Nail school that is, and I can’t wait to share my experiences and journey with all of you!
I’ve enrolled in Blanche Macdonald‘s Nail Parlour Program (now known as their Nail Studio Program) and for the next 12 weeks I’ll be completing a course on natural nails, followed by another 12 weeks of artificial nails. After I complete this course and pass the exams, I’ll be a certified nail technician in Vancouver! Yay!
I’m so happy that I finally took the step to enroll myself into nail school. It might not seem like a big deal, but it’s something I’ve been contemplating for almost 10 years. It’s shocking when you realize that you’ve been wanting something for nearly a decade, and the feeling of finally getting it is out of this world!
I have high expectations for myself and not only do I want to do well in this course, I also want to be at the top of the class. I can already predict lots of sweat and tears throughout the next six months, but I know that I’m on the right path. Some consider tears as a sign of weakness, but for me, shedding a tear or two is a sign of passion. There’s nothing wrong with crying about something that you have truly invested your heart and time into, as long as you are able to take your moment and move forward after that.
This is the most personal I’ve ever gotten on this blog, and it actually feels great to share my dreams and goals with you all! Be prepared for more posts like this, as well as a peek into what nail school is like. As always, don’t be shy to comment and share your opinions, suggestions, criticisms… keep the conversation going!

Canada Nail Cup 2015
My interest in nails began with a magazine on intricate nail art designs that I discovered in a Japanese bookstore. Since then, I’ve enrolled at Blanche Macdonald’s Nail Technology where I earned my diploma in February 2015. I’ve also had some lash extension training at a well-known Greater Vancouver lash bar on the side. I opened Sunday Beauty Boutique in March 2017 because I wanted to customize my services for my clients and give them the attention they deserve in a relaxing space. My favorite part of my job is when I’m able to boost my clients’ confidence, so they walk out the door feeling as good as they look.
